The Household Science & Nutritional Sciences Alumni Association University of Toronto presents the Professor Edna W. Park Lecture.

The Professor Edna W. Park Lecture was established in the spring of 1974 by the Household Science Alumni to honour one of its outstanding members, Professor Edna W. Park, for her notable contribution to the field of Home Economics in Canada. Edna Park was a Professor Emerita of the University of Toronto whose teaching career spanned almost half a century.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for the 2023 Department of Nutritional Sciences (DNS) Research Day.

This free full-day event showcased trainee research; a presentation by Dr. Amanda MacFarlane, founding director of Agriculture, Food, and Nutrition Evidence Centre at Texas A&M University; and the delivery of the annual Edna Park Lecture from Dr. Mary L'Abbe, DNS professor emerita and director of the WHO Collaborating Centre on Nutrition Policy for Chronic Disease Prevention.

2022

The inaugural Department of Nutritional Sciences Research Day occurred on Thursday, October 20, 2022 from 11 AM - 7PM ET at the Chestnut Conference Centre (with virtual attendance options available). This full-day event showcased trainee research and featured invited speakers, including our annual Edna Park Lecture from Dr. Sylvain Charlebois, Professor in the School of Public Administration at Dalhousie University.
