DNSAA Career Night Series: Government

The Department of Nutritional Sciences Alumni Association (DNSAA) Executive is looking forward to hosting the second event in our (virtual) Career Night Series. This event will feature two Nutritional Sciences alumni, Chelsea Murray and Ashleigh Wiggins, who currently work for the provincial and federal governments, respectively. Join us to learn more about their career paths and experiences, and find out what they learned along the way.

About the Speakers

Chelsea Murray, MSc

Chelsea works for the Ontario Public Service as a Senior Policy and Program Advisor in the Health Promotion and Prevention Policy and Programs Branch at the Ministry of Health. She has been with the Ministry of Health for 7 years. Chelsea completed a Bachelor of Science with specialization in Human Kinetics at the University of Ottawa, followed by a Master of Science in Nutritional Sciences at the University of Toronto.

Ashleigh Wiggins, MSc

Ashleigh received her BSc in Biomedical Toxicology from the University of Guelph and MSc in Nutritional Sciences from the University of Toronto. From 2014 to 2018 Ms. Wiggins was the Manager and Research Coordinator for the University of Toronto's Program in Food Safety, Nutrition and Regulatory Affairs. Since 2018 Ashleigh has worked for Health Canada's Bureau of Nutritional Sciences, where she is currently a Senior Scientific Project Coordinator. Her work primarily focuses on modernization and development of food regulations, in areas such as plant-based foods, protein quality, and infant and medical foods.
