The Canadian food system is dynamic and relies on coordination across different sectors in order to provide consumers with healthy, safe and palatable year-round access to foods. As a result, understanding and communicating changes in Government policy and advances in food science and nutrition research is vital in order to provide a safe and sustainable food supply. The Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC) University-Industry Program in Food Safety, Nutrition and Regulatory Affairs (PFSNRA) serves as a conduit for collaborations, research and information transfer that benefits all sectors of the Canadian food system.
